A weekly review in Obsidian with LifeOS
A weekend reconstruction of the whole week is the usual failure. LifeOS reads tasks, daily notes, and theme tags that already exist. The illustrated case, including the project-progress format, stays at Weekly review. Start with the questions below, then copy the outline into your weekly note.
Before you start
You need notes from the week. If you are starting with an empty vault, use the Obsidian LifeOS getting-started guide to capture some notes first. Where projects live in PARA is in the PARA essay. A one-person-company dashboard is a different rhythm; the Chinese OPC essay is at OPC CEO dashboard.
Four steps
- Open the weekly note. Filter completed tasks in the task view, or reread checkboxes in daily notes. Look for work that moved a goal, chores, and tasks that keep returning.
- Open theme notes that changed. The case page uses progress, risk, and next action. Follow that page for the format.
- Split unfinished work into continue, defer, and drop. Do not move every open task to next week.
- Write one next action you will place on the calendar. Views are in Eisenhower, kanban, and timeline.
Calendar
The review reads Markdown. Phone alerts are optional and configured in CalDAV.
The task workspace used by the case is part of LifeOS Pro. The community edition can still hold a weekly note. The split is in Free vs Pro.
Copyable Markdown review outline
Paste this into a weekly note. It does not require AI or an external calendar. Link each result to the relevant daily or project note so you can check the context later.
FAQ
Can I review my week without Pro?
Yes. A weekly note and this outline are plain Markdown. You can capture notes and review them manually with the community plugin. Consider LifeOS Pro when you need its central task workspace and periodic reviews.
Does a weekly review require AI?
No. You can review your tasks, daily notes, and project records yourself. The separate AI Review feature requires DeepAsk to be configured and activated; Pro does not include a free model service.
What should I do after the review?
Choose an actual next action instead of moving every unfinished task to next week. See task and calendar views for planning, or Free vs Pro to decide whether to upgrade. The illustrated weekly-review case shows the interface and examples.
